Daana Panni

First up, that is currently open for business is Daana Panni. On November 27th, 2020, the ethnic grocery store opened its doors to the public at 414 Seymour Street. Inspired by their own experiences as international students, recent Thompson Rivers University graduates with business majors Harpreet Singh and Udit Bharti hoped to provide students familiar tastes that they were missing back home. They opened up in downtown due to its central location and wish to do all they can to give back to Kamloops in the same way that Kamloops welcomed them. On top of imported grocery items from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri-Lanka, they also have a selection of traditional men’s and women’s clothing, handbags, and religious items. The next time you are downtown, stop by for a fresh new experience or a familiar yet nearly forgotten taste.

Passeks Classics

After re-opening nearly 2 months from being closed, Passeks has re-opened its new location at 326 Victoria Street. Passeks started out as a quick sandwich shop near city hall, but after 10 years at that location, they grew rapidly and needed to expand to serve the community cravings better. Since they saw Tera Restaurant moving locations, Passeks wanted to be more visible on Victoria Street instead of remaining at their old location on 3rd Avenue near the Yellow Bridge. With almost 30 years of baking experience and 13 years downtown, the team at Passeks is more than qualified to bring Downtown Kamloops breakfast, lunch, and grab & go bakery-style options. The Grab n Go section will also soon include dinner options with more variety coming, most likely in the summer months. The owners are incredibly grateful to their loyal and faithful customers and the great feedback on the new location. They hope to be here for many more years serving great homemade food to Kamloops.
