2017 Santa Claus Parade

One of the most fabulous celebrations of the year, the annual Downtown Kamloops Santa Claus Parade warms the hearts of young and old, regardless of the temperature outside, and takes place on the last Saturday of November each year.

It is the City’s biggest outdoor winter celebration, attracting more than 10,000 spectators lining the streets each year. This magical day is fully reliant on community sponsorship and volunteerism. It is filmed and broadcast on CFJC TV and is a great event for the community minded business to sponsor.

THIS YEARS PARADE HAS AN EXCITING NEW SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY

For the first time ever Downtown Kamloops is offering a title sponsorship opportunity for the Santa Claus Parade! This means the corporate sponsors name will be included in the title of the parade and logo in ALL marketing/advertising materials.

Summer 2017 Mural Project

Artist Ken Wells and two artist assistants have been hard at work completing our second mural of the summer.

The story behind this mural is that the Old Mystic is sending his red roses out into the world with his doves, they are received by the lady at the front, she doesn’t know from where they come. The intention of this mural is the promotion of peace and love throughout the world, without knowing who you are sending it to, or who is receiving it.

Make sure to look to the sky next time you’re passing Pizza Pi or take a stroll down the back alley between 3rd and 4th ave!

Project partners include: Province of British Columbia, Ministry of Housing and Social Development and their Job Creation Partnership, the various property owners, Kamloops Arts Council, suppliers including Sherwin-Williams Paint Store, United Rentals and the BC Wildlife Park.

Testimonials

“I work downtown, volunteer downtown, and spend a lot of time down here. Everyone’s so friendly. You feel safe walking down the street and everyone’s friendly and they ask how it’s going. On a Friday I normally go to Riverside Park via Scoopz. It’s the one thing everyone does in Kamloops.”
