Grab a Passport and sink your teeth into mouth-watering food and drinks!
JULY 31 – AUG 31
ABOUT TASTE OF DOWNTOWN
Come on downtown to participate in the Taste of Downtown 2020! This oh-so-popular fundraising event invites event-goers to taste their way through the downtown core, enjoying delicious food from participating downtown eateries in exchange for exciting prizes and too-good-to-be-true deals!
In past years, the Taste of Downtown has been a day-long event, but this year we’re doing things a bit differently. As part of the KCBIA’s #OpenWithCare campaign, this year the Taste of Downtown will be a month-long event, from July 31 to August 31. This is to spread crowds out and ensure proper social distancing can be maintained throughout the event. Patrons of the downtown are encouraged to purchase a Taste of Downtown passport for a minimum donation of $5. Proceeds from this event will go to the Kamloops Food Bank and Downtown Kamloops Artisans Alive Music Program. This passport will allow participants access to special offers and discounts at participating downtown restaurants and cafes.

Where can you Park in Downtown?
This parkade maintenance is to replace the traffic deck membrane. This is designed to protect concrete structures from moisture and needs to be replaced as part of regular maintenance. This replacement will result in the full closure of each parkade for approximately one month each. Construction for Lansdowne should begin shortly after the Seymour Parkade has been completed.
This work has been scheduled consecutively to ensure one parkade remains open at all times. Alternatively, off-street parking is also available in the following City-owned surface parking lots:
- 300 St. Paul Street
- 400 Lorne Street
- 500 Lorne Street
- Heritage House parking lot
- Sandman Centre north parking lot
- Riverside Park west-end lot
It is certainly worth noting that on-street parking is still paid. For example, outside of businesses or residential you still must use the pay stations or the Flowbird App for smartphones. If you fail to do so, you will be subject to a possible fine. It is also worth noting that any private lot or Impark lot is still paid and is subject to the same penalties. As the City is not currently collecting parking fees in the parkades and City-owned surface lots, this parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Although many people don’t realize that Downtown Kamloops has free on-street parking after 6 pm on weekdays, and all day Sunday!
If you have questions about alternative downtown parking options, please contact the City of Kamloops 250-828-3409 or email@example.com
