Italian Countryside Mural
This “Italian Countryside” mural, painted by Ken Wells in 2012, depicts the countryside in Italy. During the creation of this mural, the business owner, Anthony Salituro, presented a number of images of Italy to Wells. Wells then worked from these images to create this mural. The mural features five pillars which form an intriguing perspective of the countryside, almost as if the viewer is looking at the scene from inside. In the scene, a dog sits amongst wildflowers with a field and hills rolling out on the horizon. This mural is located behind Viva Bridal on the 300 block of Victoria.
This mural is not the only one done by Ken Wells. In fact, he has contributed to many of the murals in downtown Kamloops. The KCBIA has an online gallery where you can check out the murals here. Another of Ken Wells’ murals titled “Downtown Scene” can be found here. If you’re interested in this piece you can find it here.
