Instinct Adornment has a long history in Downtown Kamloops. The owner, Jenna Dittrich, started the body piercing studio in 1999 through Community Futures and described Instinct as a “right out of high school venture”. Initially, Instinct operated out of small studio space on the 200 block of Victoria Street. They have since expanded and moved to another Downtown location, 319 Victoria Street, where the shop has been happily settled for the past ten years!

When asked what sets Instinct apart, Jenna explained how they believe in focusing on “one thing and doing it well”. They aim to cover all of Downtown Kamloops’ piercing and jewellery needs. Jenna and her team of body piercing specialists are very “dedicated to their training” always ensuring that they keep updated. Two of the team members are even members of the, internationally recognized, Association of Professional Piercers. The store works to carry good quality items that the staff really love.

Instinct shares its space with Arwen’s Apparel – the clothing side of the store that specializes in “locally made eco-sustainable fabrics”. After Arwen visited the store as a guest artist in 2010, the partnership “just clicked”. Now, on any given day, three generations of this family can be found inside! This family business and their vibrant spirits are always a treat. Jenna announced that the whole team “love[s] working here” and together they focus on really specializing in what they do. Stop by Instinct Adornment and say hello to one of the friendliest families in Downtown Kamloops!
