Fantasy Garden Mural
The “Fantasy Garden” mural, painted by Alexx Moir-Porteous, was the first installment in the mural program. Completed in 2010, this mural showcases a forested area with a cabin incorporated into the scene. The scene depicts a path between two oak trees which acts as a portal to a fantasy garden. Alexx Moir-Porteous also included the building in the mural by featuring a cabin alongside the garden. On the wall behind Karateristics, this mural adds a unique flair to the building. The mural integrates the look of the building to create an unusual and aesthetic scene.
Alexx Moir-Porteous contributed to a number of different murals in the downtown Kamloops area. The KCBIA has an online gallery of the murals. If you’re interested in taking a look at more of his work, you can find it here.
