Extended patios to sweep Downtown Kamloops! As restrictions lift across B.C., more and more Kamloops businesses are expanding their patios. They hope that more outdoor seating will bring customers to the downtown area while still letting them maintain a safe social distance. Many restaurants, cafes, and retail stores have already applied to the City of Kamloops for this expansion. The Vic Cafe at 377 Victoria Street was the first business to open its expanded patio earlier this month.

As part of its Open with Care campaign, the KCBIA wants to help businesses extend their patios. Other businesses with plans to expand their patios include Dorian Greek House, Motivo, and Blue Sky Clothing. However, many others are soon to join them. We’re excited to see more patios popping up in our downtown as we enter the summer season. Kamloops residents are eager to enjoy the summer weather, so this development is sure to bring business to the downtown area. We can’t wait to see you this summer!

We encourage businesses with an interest in extended patios to email Christine Beaton at admin@downtownkamloops.com. Application forms are also available from the City of Kamloops.
