Upcoming Elections Kamloops Centre for Arts

In anticipation of the upcoming elections on April 4th for the Kamloops Centre for Arts, Carl DeSantis, Executive Director of Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association, said, “I am encouraging each of you to join downtown businesses and services on April 4th and vote yes.”

KCBIA is eager for this unique space in the core of the city to be approved. KCA uses are seemingly endless for both the city and Downtown Kamloops. This centre can be used not just for theatre production but also for concerts that pass the city due to inadequate facilities and resources, graduations, sporting banquets and business meetings. This centre for the community will be in downtown Kamloops at 4th Avenue and Seymour. It will be an economic driver for the city of Kamloops, contributing to the revitalization of Downtown to a vibrant arts and cultural scene. As per Carl DeSantis, “the KCA will allow us to maintain a smaller city feel while benefiting from bigger city resources and events.”

Maren Luciani, Director KCBIAMaren Luciani, Director KCBIA, said, “As a Board Member for the KCBIA and a small business owner in the Downtown, I am more than thrilled to see our city diversify to include a strengthened focus on arts and culture. The KCA will enhance the downtown experience by supporting existing businesses and encouraging new businesses to locate here. It will provide much-needed vibrancy in the evenings and an incentive for more young professionals to move here. We are going to see a lot of positive changes and new developments in DowntownDowntown over the next 5-10 years, given a shortage of land in suburban areas and a heightened desire for more culture and entertainment. I am excited to be a part of this significant shift to a more sustainable community!”

Many businesses in Downtown have publicly announced their support. Learn more: https://bit.ly/2uTwXb3
