The Downtown Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association (KCBIA) is a not-for-profit organization representing the interests of approximately 750 businesses and 350 commercial properties in the downtown core. The KCBIA collaborates with our members and community partners to execute events and campaigns that drive traffic to our members and showcase downtown as a vital part of our community as well as a great place to do business.
We build our brand as a reputable source of information to the public, a vital resource for our members, and a united voice of advocacy on key projects and interests to our members. We use marketing channels to reach our desired audiences with key messages and calls to action and to increase traffic and business ventures downtown.
The programs and events we organized are undertaken to promote #DowntownKamloops as a thriving community, a great place to do business, eat, shop, play and live! To successfully run our programs and events, we rely on various funding including grants, membership, and sponsorship. Sponsorship is a great way for businesses to demonstrate commitment to the community and build brand recognition.

SpringFest May 11-14
Springfest is all about public space programming and citizen engagement through art, music and experience. Our goal is to capitalize on Downtown Kamloops’ assets, inspiration, and potential to further create and utilize good public spaces to promote people’s health, happiness, and well-being. Showcasing experience is a great way to engage residents, visitors and workers.
Springfest promotes community involvement and neighbourhood loyalty. It is shown that providing healthy activities in public space encourages visitors to stay longer and invite others to return.

Vibe On Victoria: Live Sessions – mid-June through mid-September
The Vibe on Victoria: Live Session (formerly Artisans Alive) program was created to enhance the downtown’s ambiance and vibrancy. These scheduled outdoor live music sessions enhance visitors’ experiences downtown. These lunchtime performances allow local performers to showcase their talents to the community and further their dreams and aspirations. We are excited to announce that we are accepting all forms of performances this year, not just music!

Santa Claus Parade – Sunday, November 26
One of the most fabulous celebrations of the year, the annual Downtown Kamloops Santa Claus Parade warms the hearts of young and old regardless of the temperature outside.
The Santa Claus Parade takes place on the last Sunday in November each year. It is the City’s biggest outdoor celebration, attracting 25,000+ visitors to line the streets each year. This magical day is fully reliant on community sponsorship and volunteerism. It is a great event for community-minded businesses to sponsor.
