Downtown Kamloops – COVER PHOTO CONTEST
EDITORIAL STYLE CRITERIA
We’re looking for a photo that captures the Downtown Kamloops experience in Spring/Summer (no snowy landscapes please).
We want it to include people, either walking, drinking coffee, laughing, performing, or engaging in some other fun downtown experience!

DEADLINE: MONDAY, MARCH 25 – 12:00 PM (NOON)
PHOTO FILE CRITERIA: MINIMUM 300DPI, VERTICAL WITH ROOM FOR CROPPING. THE FINAL SIZE IS 5.75 X 8.65 INCHES

Photos Including People Must Be Accompanied by a Photo Copyright Release Form and Model Release Form
Unlimited photo entries per person. Photos will be reviewed by the KCBIA staff (Executive Director: Carl DeSantis, Events & Marketing Specialist: Karla Karcioglu, Admin: Paola Ludwig, and CAP Team Lead: Alexis Proulx). The criteria for judging the photos will be: Composition (how well it fits the dimensions and cover content of the guide), colours (how well the colours blend with the brand tone and colours for Downtown Kamloops which will be prominently featured on the cover and throughout the guide), the emotion the photo conveys, and how clear the geographical context is in the photo.
Submitted photos that are not selected for use as the Spring/Summer Activity Guide will not be kept, and will not be used for any purpose by Downtown Kamloops or other partner organizations.
Photographs entered must not have been previously published for similar productions. Entrants must own all rights to the photographs submitted. As such, entrants hold Downtown Kamloops harmless from any breach of copyright. Photographs that have won any other contests or have been published in a magazine or newspaper (except online) are not eligible. Photographs that violate or infringe upon another person’s copyright are not eligible. For a photo in which a person is recognizable, a model release is required. Model releases are the responsibility of the entrant and must be submitted with the photo.
Credit to the photographer will be given wherever possible, including within the Spring/Summer Activity Guide, and anytime the photo is used on KBCIA social media and the KCBIA website.
The Spring/Summer Downtown Kamloops Activity Guide is developed and produced in partnership with Kamloops This Week. Kamloops This Week is responsible for all advertisements included in the Activity Guide.
With regard to any photograph submitted to this contest, the entrant, or the owner of copyright in the photograph, retains copyright. By uploading or submitting any photograph to this contest, the entrant grants (or warrants that the owner of such materials expressly grants) Kamloops This Week a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any Kamloops This Week purpose, including, but not limited to advertising and promotional materials, its website, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to Kamloops This Week publications. Kamloops This Week will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
