Have fun this holiday season in Downtown Kamloops

The holiday season is on its way and Downtown Kamloops is celebrating. Throughout the month of December you can find downtown businesses showcasing beautiful window displays, holiday lights brightening up the sidewalks and you may even run into jolly ol’ Saint Nick himself browsing his way through the shops. Seasonal shoppers can enjoy tons of prize giveaways, visits from Santa, free Saturday on-street parking, and so much more!

Seasonal events that are sure to jingle your bells include the Santa Claus Parade and the first ever flannel and frost themed Welcome Winter Block Party!

The holiday festivities kick off Saturday, November 25th with the Annual Santa Claus Parade at 11am.

For the first time ever, the parade has a presenting sponsor. Thompson Rivers University (TRU) has stepped up to show their support for this amazing community celebration and is thrilled to be partnering with Downtown Kamloops in growing this popular, annual event. Head down early for Wake up Santa and pre-parade entertainment at 10:30am.

Downtown Kamloops invites you to bundle up in your favourite plaid jacket and join them in embracing winter with an oh-so-Canadian celebration – the first ever Flannel & Frost themed Welcome Winter Block Party will take place Saturday, December 9th from 12-6pm on Victoria Street between 3rd and 4th Ave.

Whether you are gathering a few friends for a fun Saturday or getting out to make some memories with the family – this event features fun for all ages! The 300 block of Victoria Street will be opened up to pedestrians only and event goers can expect to find hot food and drink options, ball hockey with Blazers and Storm alumni, a variety of craft beer/local wine, plenty of entertaining activities and outdoor seating – don’t worry there will be propane heaters to help keep those mittens warm!

Shops & restaurants throughout the downtown core will be adding to the festivities with their own parties – in-store! Stop in at your favourite participating shop to warm up and check out amazing Welcome Winter specials.
